Marx argued that capitalism was ruining society by putting the emphasis on collecting material goods.

Marx believed that in order to correct this problem there needed to be a societal revolution led by the Proletariat (working man) against the Bourgeois (upper to upper middle class).

3 Major Steps of Communism

  • Marx argued that there were three major steps that needed to occur in order to achieve a true communist society:

Step 1:

  • Societal Revolution led by the Proletariat. That results with the Proletariat as the governing body.

Step 2:

  • Wealth and land would be redistributed equally to all so that all people would be economically equal.

Step 3:

  • Private property and government would cease to exist. People would be given tasks that were to benefit society as a whole.
