Community, gardens, and the American dream
In this first class we will introduce the text seed folks. They will be a guest speaker who will talk about the subject of community gardens in the Bronx. If possible the class will be conducted in a garden. Students will be able to understand the importance of community garden have and have their own vision for a community garden on Tremont Avenue.

NEW INFORMATION

Guest speaker
The guest speaker will come to class to tell the students about creating gardens in the Bronx. The students will have guided questions but be able to ask their own as well. The speaker will talk about the importance of gardens and gardening in urban areas.

APPLY KNOWLEDGE

Visions for our community gardens.
The students working groups and make their own community gardens. They will design the garden and come up with what vegetables and plants should be grown in it. They will also think of what purpose their garden will serve and what it's central vision will be. They will pick location in their neighborhood for the garden.

This work will be done on large poster paper and hung up at the end of class.
