The force acting on the clothes is an inward force. Centripetal force is acting on the force to keep the inward force going. The clothes exert an equal and opposite force outward "Centrifugal" on the drum.

CATEGORIZE FORCES

  • The clothes have to have direct contact with the drum wall. The drum wall has to be rotating for the forces to take place.
  • Centripetal and Centrifugal are balanced forces.
  • These forces are paired to make a circular motion.
