WHY COMPOST?
- An easy and economical way to reduce household waste and repurpose it for a variety of useful projects
- Reduce your carbon footprint: Reduce, reuse, recycle
- Save money on waste management costs: fewer garbage stickers
Composting is simply the process of decomposition. It occurs naturally, with or without human intervention.
WHAT TO COMPOST?
- Leaves, yard/garden waste, grass clippings
- Kitchen scraps: fruit & veggie stems and peels
- Egg shells, coffee grounds
WHAT NOT TO COMPOST?
- Fats, oils, grease
- Meat or bones
- Dairy products
- Pet waste or manure
