COMPOUNDS, ELEMENTS, and MIXTURES.
This presentation is going to explain the meanings and give examples of compounds, elements, and mixtures.
COMPOUND
A compound is something that is composed of two or more separate elements
EXAMPLE:
An example of a compound would be water because it is made up of more than one element, hydrogen and oxygen.
ELEMENT
An element is a substance that can't be broken down into something smaller.
EXAMPLE
Water decomposes into a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen which are both elements.
MIXTURE
a material system made up of two or more different substances which are mixed but not chemically combined.
EXAMPLE
salad is an example because it's a mixture of more than one item.
