What are the conditions necessary for prayer to be answered?

1. Faith is both a condition and a free gift.

Faith

• "But without faith it is impossible to please him." Hebrews 11:6.

2. Repentance of cherished sin is both a condition and a promised gift.

Iniquity

• "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me." Psalm 66:18.

3. Obedience is a condition, but also a free gift.

And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight." 1 John 3:22.
