CONDITIONS OF LIFE

BY VERONICA CAMPOS

Energy

The sun has a strong gravitational pull that hold the solar system together.
The sun's sunlight is used to grow the food you eat and to creat the energy you use in your house or school.

Atmosphere

The earth's atmosphere is made up of nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide.
The atmosphere protects the earth from all the space junk out there.
Without the atmosphere life on earth wouldn't be possible.

Water and Temperature

The climate on the earth is used for the growth of plants and other life forms.
Water is probably the most important chemical necessary for life on earth. Water is important because it doesn't harm or burn you like other acids and is useable.
Earth's water is unique because it appears in all three forms, liquid, gas, and solid.
Water is an important factor in the temperature and weather because water is used in clouds rain and snow.

What is Necessary
for Life & Rotation

The rotation of the earth is helpful for photosynthesis because that way every plant around the earth can get an even amount of light.
Venus can't have photosynthesis because half of the 243 day it has are spent in the dark.
The earth is tilted on its axis. If the earth wasn't tilted the seasons would be the same year round.

WHAT 3 THINGS ARE NECESSARY FOR LIFE ON EARTH

  • The proximity of the sun and the earth.
  • Liquid water
  • A non poisonous atmosphere.

VENUS

  • Temperature: 864°F
  • Water: .002% water vapor in the clouds. No water on surface.
  • Atmosphere: almost entirely carbon dioxide.

PLUTO

  • Temperature: -400°F
  • Water: ice water
  • Atmosphere: mostly nitrogen

URANUS

  • Temperature: -357°F
  • Water: they suspect there is a lot of water.
  • Atmosphere: hydrogen, heluim, methane, and ammonia.

JUPITER

  • Temperature: 243°F
  • Water: there is water on the cloud tops and moons.
  • Atmosphere: hydrogen, heluim, and water vapor.

NEPTUNE

  • Temperature: -218°C
  • Water: solid water
  • Atmosphere: hydrogen, helium, methane, and water.
