PACKED WITH TEXT?

EVER SAT THROUGH A PRESENTATION OF SLIDES
Have you ever experienced that sinking feeling when a slide pops up on the screen, and it’s just crammed with tiny text? (Or, even worse, when the presenter starts reading it to you, word for word?)

Slides like that are hard to understand and remember.

(They're great at boring your audience to death, though.)

It’s pretty common for people to pack slides full of text and content, but most presentation experts recommend avoiding that.

If you have existing PowerPoint files you're thinking of rebuilding in Haiku Deck, you can simply import them into Haiku Deck Zuru, and they'll automatically be cleaned up and made into gorgeous visual presentations without any extra work on your part (thanks, Artificial Intelligence!). ONE IDEA PER SLIDE.

EXPERTS AGREE: STICK TO
Narrowing down to one idea at a time makes your presentations clearer and more effective.

But limiting yourself to one idea per slide can be challenging for some... which is why we're practicing it today!

The following example slide is a pretty common style for most presentations:

Untitled Slide

Boring and long-winded, right? Just imagine it being read out loud to an audience.

Let's try fixing it.

Though it might seem like an efficient use of space to pack that much into one slide, it's the kind of slide that’s very tempting to read out loud. Which also happens to be the number one thing that people who listen to presentations find annoying.

TWO-MINUTE CHALLENGE:

TURN THE EXAMPLE SLIDE INTO A HAIKU DECK
Try turning the sample slide from this deck into a short Haiku Deck, with one slide for each point. If you'd like an example, check out ours here:
