Why I am conquering Constantinople

  • It was my fathers dream
  • It is one of the holy cities
  • To make it our capital
  • To take control of the trading route (Hudson, Section 2 and 3)

Surrender or we will attack the city in the 6 of April 1453 (Hudson, Section3)

I am Mehmed II and I am 21 and I will conquer you

We have between 60,000 - 80,000 soldiers, accompanied by 69 cannons (Hudson, Section 3)
The sultan conquered Constantinople

4,000 soldiers and civilians killed

50,000 were enslaved

The siege lasted 53 days

The siege started on 6 of April 1453.

The siege ended in May 29, 1453

Between 60,000 and 80,000 soldiers fought on land, accompanied by 69 cannons

Constantinople was made the new Ottoman capital

Mehmed II was 21 years old

To the people of Constantinople, Surrender

  • We will fight for as long as possible
  • We have larger numberss
  • We do not wish to damage constantinople more than necessary
  • You will no longer die from sickness and hunger
  • If you do not surrender we will kill you and take over constantinople

To Constantinople after taking over

  • You will have the honor to die by our hands
  • We are the rightful successors of Constantinople after the romans
  • Some of you will have the honor to serve me or my people
  • You will no longer suffer
  • The city of constantinople won't be damaged more than necessary

Future of Constantinople

  • It is an honor
  • Some of you will serve us we have enslaved over 50,000
  • This will become our capital
  • Constantinople rightfully belongs to us it was never your to begin with
