Envy "What is the good of telling me that the cure for envy is happiness? I cannot find happiness while I continue to feel envy, and you tell me I cannot cease to be envious until I find happiness."(Russell, 87)
In this quote it talks about how envy causes conflict in ones life. Envy is a noticeable emotion yet no matter how much we try to fix it, one cannot live without another. Happiness isn't permanent and neither is envy.
Fear of Public Opinion "A dog will bark more boldly and bite more readily when people are afraid of him, then when they treat him with contempt" (Russell, 131)
When you show fear people will take advantage of the way you present yourself. Just like in the quote when people are aware that it bothers you, they will tend to strike more fear into you.
By being reserved and withdrawn from emotion you are never truly happy. The purple of affection is the ability to confide in others where love is needed. Affection doesn't have to be sexual, it just has to have a goal and desire for a relationship
In today's world, our beings have come to the point where we are always bored, bore dome leads to unhappiness. The idea of inactivity is looked down upon. When in retrospect inactivity leads to self-reflection, and worldly observation. But in today's world we all become self-absorbed of the fact that if we aren't doing something that SHOWS results we are "unhappy".
