  • Cognitive Constructivism
  • Social Constructivism

Cognitive Constructivism

  • Is a theory championed by Jean Piaget
  • Students must own the concept they are learning
  • ex: How to teaching a color blind person about colors?

Social Constructivism

  • A theory championed by Lev Vygotsky
  • Where students should be engaged into a social practice to learn a concept
  • We're talking about group projects for example.

  • It is only when I acted the words that I truly started to understand them.
  • The nuances between the words in L2 made more sens.
  • The fluctuations and the use of intonation.
