BLEND
Definition -
To combine 2+ ingredients until smooth & uniform in
texture, flavor, and color; may be done by hand with
an electric blender or mixer.
Refers to incorporate 2+ ingredients thoroughly.

MARINATE
Definition -
to add flavor to food such as meat, poultry, seafood or veggables.
Note: Dry marinade mixtures composed of spicesor they may b
rubbed into meat, poultry, or seafood.
Example/refers to - you marinate your meat.

DREDGE
Definition -
To sprinkle or coat with flour or other fine substance.
Referred to as breading.

STEEP
Definition -
To extract color, flavor, or other qualities from a substance
by leaving it in water just below the boiling point.
Refers to steeping tea.

SAUTE
Definition -
To cook and/or brown food in a small amount og hot fat.
Refers to frying.
