As you can see in the picture, in 1948 with the new type of government in South Africa, white people had a lot of preference. Meanwhile, black people and other ethnic groups (which were majority op population) were discriminated by measures such like this one.

Political Problems
-"APARTHEID"
"All-white government began enforcing existing policies of racial segregation under a system of legislation that it called apartheid" (History, 2012).

Apartheid was just a way to demonstrate that the colonization in Africa was being very strong. White people, which were originary from European or American countries, had control and the main preferences over the entire population in South Africa. This caused a markable difference between ethnic groups, it was the beginning of discomformity. Fortunately, this kind of government ended in 1994. And things seemed to be better.

Since then South Africans lived in a better society, with a government that wasn not longer racist. Equality seemed to arrive for a period of time, but...
