INTERESTING FACTS
- There are 36 species of cat in the world, and the Bengal Tiger is the largest.
- Bengal tigers have white spots, called "flashes" on the back of their ears.
- The mighty roar of a Bengal tiger can be heard up to two miles away.
The Bengal tiger is endangered because of deforestation, and they are being illegally hunted for their pelts, meat, and body parts (used in folk medicine).
There are at least 2,500 Bengal tigers left in the wild. Population has increased over the past 10 years.
Conservation Efforts:
The Save the Tiger Fund-Panthera Partnership: Two separate organizations that have recently joined forces for the good of the worlds wild tigers. Because most tigers die as a result of poaching and hunting, this organization focuses on the stopping such activities.
Big Cat Rescue: This sanctuary, is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of all of the big cat species that have been abused.
I feel like I can save my animal by making an organization with other people who want to save the Bengal tiger along with me, and some of my friends along with me go around our neighborhoods and ask for donations to save tigers from extinction.
Slogan:
Mighty tigers hear them roar, soon there may be no more.
