Benjamin Frankin

BY: JAYLA BAKER AND TANNER THOMPSON

Who is Benjamin Franklin?

  • Benjamin was born in Boston on January 17, 1706 and he died on April 17, 1790 after 84 years of living. He was married to Deborah Read and had three children: William, Sarah, and Francis.
  • He was a scientist, inventor, and politician.

Benjamin saw the value of inoculation against small pox. Inoculation is the historical method for the prevention of small pox by deliberately placing the virus under the skin. He also launched the first American Medical School, devised a flexible urethral catheter, and identified lead poisoning as a cause of abdominal pain and peripheral neuropathy. Peripheral neuropathy is the result of damage to the peripheral nerves. It often causes weakness, numbness, and pain to the hands or feet.

He's interesting :)

  • Something interesting about Benjamin Franklin is that he is on 100 dollar bill and he is one of the original founding fathers.
