CHINESE BUDDHA
Chinese buddha is heavier than Indian Buddha because in china, when you are heavy it symbolizes rich.
Chinese buddha is bald, unlike Indian Buddha.
Chinese Buddha had long, drooping earlobes.
Chinese Buddha is usually smiling, unlike Indian Buddha.
Chinese buddha is usually sitting in a meditation form.

Indian buddha is skinny, and has hair
Indian buddha has many different poses in his statues
He wears a robe, that usually always only goes over one shoulder, and goes down to his ankles.
He wearsdthe same headpiece in every statue and picture.
Every buddha pose has a different meaning.

PROTECTION BUDDHA/OVERCOMING FEAR

FACTS:
Protection Buddha has his palm up, symbolizing a shield for protection.
He is sitting down, with his robe slung around him.
This Buddha symbolizes courage and protection

MEDITATION BUDDHA / SERENITY BUDDHA / CALMING BUDDHA

This statue is for people who need calmness and peace in their lives.
The statue is shaped in a somewhat traingle which represents stability.
Many large statues in Japan and Korea are in this meditation pose.
Both hands are in his lap, his palms facing up, and he is sitting in lotus position.
This pose is called the Amithabha Buddha, translated means Boundless Light.
