DogWork-the phrase, similar to a sentence, is the foundation to craft CanineFreestyle DogWork® Presentations. The team's movement, as the raw material, is crafted and organized with music. Movement behaviors and qualities illustrate the dog's training and the resulting relationship in a creative and artistic manner.

THE INSPIRATION & FOCUS, THE DOG
Movement is crafted choreographically with music.
Choreography is organized with music using concepts as tools. The inspiration and objective of each presentation is the dog, his training and his working relationship as a member of a team. Each Presentation is unique and illusrates the dog, his training and the team's relationship to the dog and/or the team to its best advantage in a creative and artistic manner.

MOVEMENT PHRASES

ARE SIMILAR TO SENTENCES
Phrases have a preparation, a behavioral action followed by a natural closing to either to repeat the sequence again or to use the ending to begin a new movement thought.
Phrases like sentences have a supporting structure.

PHRASES HAVE

A beginning, middle and end
The beginning of a phrase is a preparation for the action to come
The middle is the actual action, a behavior and/or a quality to clarify the intent of the phrase
Once the action is completed. The movement has to be completed; to come or draw to a natural closing. The phrase will either be repeated or transition into another phrase or sequence of movements.

Phrases as choreography's building blocks link similar phrases together into choreographic parts. When phrases and/or parts are artistically expressed, information is communicated non-verbally.

to express movement

Concepts are listed in the Learning Resource Center and the Judging Protocols. The concepts are drawn from generally accepted interpretations of movement theories, aesthetic principles and rules for creating or crafting choreography. Many of the listed concepts are already included intuitively and understood as common sense. It is important to accept the listed concepts as aids to create and support artistic performance. Both creativity and artistry are requirements in CanineFreestyle DogWork.
