Description

  • Usually clown fish have orange bodies with stripes.But some are pinkish with a single white stripe and some have large sections of black too.
  • A clown fish is approximately as big as a hand.
  • Sea anemones sting and kill fish.But the stings do not hurt clown fish.A layer of slime on their scales protects clown fish.

Habitat

  • Clown fish like to swim in warm, shallow water in the Pacific,and Indian ocean.
  • Since clown fish like tropical waters they don't migrate.
  • Clown fish also swim in the Red sea.

Food

  • Clown fish eat from their mouth like humans.
  • Clown fish eat algae worms, and tiny animals.
  • They also eat food that sea anemones leave behind.

Life Cycle

  • The female clown fish lay approximately 400 to 1,500 eggs at a time
  • The mama clown fish is called a fish ,and the baby clown fish is called a fish also.
  • The clown fish has 3 stages in its life cycle.

  • Clown fish are also called clown anemone fish.
  • Clown fish were first made famous as the star character in Disney Pixar movie Finding Nemo.
