Prehospital care provides: administered oxygen, controlling blood glucose levels, and frequently checking consciousness
Emergency department provides: undressing the patient, applying cooling with water and fan, applying ice packs to the axilla and groin, and controlling shivering with benzodiazepine
Common side effects: loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting
Severe side effects: behavior changes, confusion, difficult or painful urination, double vision, fainting, and irregular heartbeat
Other side effects: hallucinations, involuntary muscle movements, pain, redness or swelling at injection, dizziness, light-headed ness, slowed breathing, and uncontrolled eye movements
