FACTS

  • One of the original 13 colonies.
  • On the Atlantic side of North America.
  • Existed between 1636 to 1776
  • It joined the other 12 colonies

MAJOR PRODUCTS IN COLONIAL EXCHANGE

  • Mostly fishing but some timber was traded.

CLIMATE

  • Coldest of the three regions
  • Mild winter and summers
  • Thunderstorms most often occur in summer
  • Tornados almost every year
  • Hurricanes accasionally effect the weather

GEOGRAPHY

  • Lots of mountains with a thick growth of trees
  • And rivers, and poor rocky soil that is not the best for planting crops, and for farming.
  • Narrow lowlands and hilly eastern upland.

WHY WAS IT FOUNDED

  • For political freedom and for religious freedom
  • And because of an argument at Massachusetts Bay.

TYPES OF PEOPLE

  • People that are in the higher class
  • Manual workers, servants, apprentices, sailors, and hired hands
  • Semi-skilled, tradesmen.
