- Set out on his expedition on feburary 23, 1540

His Journey
- Found the first city, but indians lived there...
- War! While at war with the indians Cornado was wounded.
- Successfully Defeated the indians, but stayed at the city to heal.
- Coronado sent scouts out to find the second city.
- That is when his scouts found the Grand Canyon!

Exploring a Unknown Land
- Coronado never found the second city
- searched, and searched...
- Winter of 1442
- He spent the rest of his time Exploring the rest of the territory.
- Coronado ran into many indians, this meant more battles.

Returning to Spain.
- Left Mexico in April 1542
- Expedition was a failure!
- Coronado was bankrupt.
- Charges of War Crimes were brought against him.
- Remained in Mexico, till he died on Sep. 22, 1554

- 1541- Grand Canyon is found .
- 1542- Coronado heads home.
- 1554- Coronado Dies from a disease.
