“Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn’t…. (missions) is a temporary necessity. But worship abides forever.”
We desire to aggressively participate in compassionately reaching our world with the Gospel of Christ, beginning with our families, neighbors, and friends. This is done through financial and prayerful support of our missionaries, providing tangible needs for the suffering, and working with like-minded congregations in our community to complete the task of reaching others for Christ. We will look for new and creative expressions to this end.
I am convinced that the church that does the most missional good outside of themselves is first convinced and passionate about the mission field in their own backyard.
There are people for us to interact with at official buildings and locations but also simple place like the market, the grocery store, the gas station.
“but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,”
“Consider scattering over gathering… it would make more sense in our current context to do less gathering and more scattering. We are beyond the place where saying “Everyone come!” will bring unbelievers to a gathering. Churches need to have more of a “Lets go!” mentality.”
