What is the name of your group? Donner party
When were they in the west? 1846- present day
Why did the come? Wanted a new beginning

What challenges did they face? They got stuck in the Sierra Nevada Mountains because of snow storms. They also faced starvation, coldness, and exhaustion.

HASTINGS CUT OFF MAP

Lansford Hastings made the cut off which is where the Donner party tragedy began.

They shaped the west by being the last people to use the Hastings cut off because of the tragedies during the Donner party
