  • this was one of rome's greatest highways
  • many people were robbed on the road
  • lots of trade happened on the road

  • public bath houses where huge and contaned manny luxuries
  • they contained a cold tank, hot tank, warm tank, a warm room, a hot room, an exercise area, a water chamber and a changing room

C is for Coliseum

  • lots of battles betwwen slave`s and animals
  • most battles where to the death
  • this took about 80 years to compleate

D is for Dictator

  • the most famous dictator in rome was julios seasor
  • a dictator rules with absolute power with out giving people any say in the goverment

E is for excellent drain pipes

  • slaves hwere well educatd to fix water pipes
  • water pipes were made of paths 1dough out then covered with smooth stone

F is for first

  • the fist leader to execute cristions

G is for God`s

  • there where many roman gods that where the same as the greeks
  • the god live on mount Olympus and there leader is zuse

H is for hated government

  • many people where poor because of slaves
  • people would try to get employment but would get turned down because slaves worked for free

I is for immortal

  • the god/goddesses where thought to be imortal
  • meaning to never die

J is for Julius caesar

  • He was a famose roman emper/dictator
  • made lots of changes to the goverment when the came to power

K is for kills

  • the 8th table says that if you kill a thief in your own home it is not a crime

L is for latten

  • the main language of the people of rome
  • many words that we say as the English came from rome

M is for myths

  • lots of myths include gods and goddesses
  • they also included many made up people

N is for Nero

  • he was an emperor who executed the followers of jesus

O is for Olympia

  • this is the place that the roman goddesses and gods lived

P is for Poseidon

  • his roman name is Neptune
  • he is the god of the sea

Q is for

R is for republic

  • after Tarquinius was thrown out, the wealthy land owners established a republic

S is for Sosigenes

  • he was an astronomer who created a calendar of 365 days and 6 hours

T is for the twelve tables

  • the laws that where written in the center of the town so no one could say the did not know the law

U is for upper class

  • the patricians were known as the upper class

v is for veto

  • a word the government used meaning "I forbid"

w is for wail

  • the 10th table commands that no women can wail at funerals

x is for eXecution

  • the punishment for rebellion was execution

y is for years

  • the Eastern Empire lasted 1,000 years but the Western only another 140 years

z is for Zeus

  • he was a Greek god of the sky and rain
  • he was the supreme ruler of the gods
