Globalization
the connection of different parts of the world. Globalization results in the expansion of international cultural, economic, and political activities.

GLOBALIZATION IN HISTOTY

  • Britain’s colony in India, for instance, supplied cotton to British merchants and traders
  • This relates to economic, because India is supplying them with cotton and the British don't have to buy it.
  • This relates to me, because with the trading/supplying they did I am now lucky enough to be supplied with food and clothes.

COMMUNICATION

  • Through globalization, people may become aware of incidents very quickly. In seconds, people are able to respond to natural disasters that happen thousands of miles away.
  • This relates to social, because people can use the Internet to find out what is happening across the world.
  • This relates to me, because I can use my phone to find out news from all around the world.

TRAVEL

  • Travel and tourism have made people more familiar with other cultures. Travelers are exposed to new ideas about food, which may change what they buy at the store at home.
  • This relates to social, because when people visit they get to see all the traditions and culture other people have in different places.
  • This relates to me, because when I travel or learn about a certain place. I get to learn about the culture which always gets me more intrigued in that place.

PROS

  • Aid agencies can respond more quickly to a natural
  • Advanced medicines are more easily and widely available to people who may not have been able to afford them.

CONS

  • people tend to adopt some aspects of other cultures without giving up their own
