"Globalization is the connection of different parts of the world. Globalization results in the expansion of international cultural, economic, and political activities. As people, ideas, knowledge, and goods move more easily around the globe, the experiences of people around the world become more similar."
One example is "Globalization was accelerated in the nineteenth century with the industrial revolution as mechanical mills and factories became more common."
This could be economical because the industrial revolution made a lot of money and the machines that were invented have gone on to be som important in our lives and still now make a lot of money. This could also be social because the machines have effected our lives pretty greatly and are still making A big impact in our world.
This example relates to me because with out the industrial revolution who knows what my life might be like or what the technology we have now might differ. Also a lot of the things I get and use are from some sort of factories or are made with some sort of machine so it impacted me pretty greatly.
One example of globalization is "The success of global new networks like CNN have also contributed to globalization. People all over the world can see the same news 24 hours a day."
This strongly relates to social because communication is all about people and with globalization people in families and far away friends can now easily communicate.
This example relates to me because I use all of modern technology and my parents watch the news and so right now during the debates and primaries for Americas next president people all over the world can watch this, not just my parents and I and other people close by.
One example is "most of these international tourists are from developed countries. Many are most comfortable with goods and services that resemble what they have at home."
This is another strongly social point because people who travel and search for jobs in different countries are changing social climates and it is all about people.
This relates to me because my family traveled a lot and my parents stress that it is not just about getting a tan but about learning the culture. For example when we went to Hawaii we sat at the beach but we also learned about the native culture.
Major corporations can get away with paying less because the cost of living in less developed countries is cheaper even though the company makes the same amount.
Some people worry that western cultures are going to "take over the world" and everyone will be eating fast food and watching Hollywood movies.
