What is a habitat?
A habitat is a survival place for an animal. In it's habitat the animal gets food, water, and shelter. It also must have a place to raise young. In other words the habitat is the animals home. Only one species lives in a habitat.

- Animals species home, only one species
- Wherever animals go to get survival things is a habitat
- Different living things need different habitats
- Need 5 things to survive water, food, shelter, place to raise young
- If populations needs not met they move to different habitat
- Many plants and animals share same habitat
- Animals protect habitat

What is an ecosystem?
An ecosystem is a group of living and non- living things of different and the same species in the same surroundings that interact and work with each other.

WHAT IS AN ECOSYSTEM?
- Community of non-living and living things working and interacting with each other
- No particular size can be as large as desert or small as puddle
- Similar to a habitat
- Can be considered a more complex habitat
- Major parts= soil, atmosphere, light, water, living organisms
- All things in ecosystem work together
- Air, atmosphere important because all living things need oxygen
