WHAT IS MATESHIP?

  • Mateship is a concept that can be traced back to the early colonial times.
  • In Australia a 'mate' is more than just a friend.
  • Being someones mate means to be loyal and believe that your both equal.
  • There are two different types of mateship...inclusive and exclusive
  • Mateship is more than just having a friend it's a friend till the end.

HOW WAS MATESHIP FORMED IN THE TRENCHES?

  • Mateship was formed in the trenchers by having the back of the anzac next to you.
  • Mateship was also formed when they where on the Boat heading for the coast of turkey.
  • Sometimes they would become mateship before heading to war. Like they where friends from thers hometown.
