GEOGRAPHY
Ancient Egyptians lived along a very narrow band of land that was made fertile by the Nile River's yearly flooding.
Ancient Egyptians unified neighboring villages into districts called nomes.
Each nome had a standard, and a portable sign that included an image of nome deity or a symbol of religious power.

GOVERNMENT
There were 5 ranks/classes
They were Noble (First Rank), Administrator (Second rank), Scribe (Third rank), Artisan (Fourth Rank), and Laborers or farmers (fifth rank).
They were ruled by a pharaoh named Akhenaten

WORSHIP (gODS)
The people of Hermopolis worshiped Thoth, the God of wisdom, scribes, and the upholder of justice.
Thoth (Pronounced Toth) is often shown holding papyrus and a reed pen to record judgements.

FUN FACTS
Thoth's sacred animals were the ibis and the baboon.
Nomes had carefully marked boundaries with records kept of their amount of farmland and their canals with all their branches.
