Scenario: The principal is suspicious of mentee's delinquency in teaching her/ his students when assigned. In addition to his suspicions is the fact that the mentee has been late for several classes and show little signs of changing/improving anytime soon.

On several occasions the principal has witnessed that not long after the mentee's assigned class had commenced that she/ he would be found at his/ her desk while the students worked at their desks.

The principal noticed too that during that period the students are seldom assisted by the teacher. He has spoken with the teacher about the need for more extended interactions before work is assigned and has gone as far as to refer her to a more seasoned teacher for guidance.

In spite of his efforts students’ performance are marginal and tardiness is still evident. Frustrated, he has targeted the teacher for repeated supervision. The teacher believes she is the target of an eager principal.

The Resolution
One way in which the above conflict can be solved is through the management style of collaborating. The mentee and I would collaborate by pairing with each other to work on ironing out the issues that she is facing with the principal.

The Resolution
Therefore, we would plan together as well as do team teaching so that I can observe her behavior and give feedback based on my observations. She would also be invited to my classes to observe the model of procedures the principal expects to see in the classroom.

Additionally, the mentees input would also be welcomed so that I can get an understanding of what she is experiencing in her classes and discuss how we can move pass the challenges and get to a place of resolution.

Added to this I would collaborate with the principal to attend one of his supervision sessions with to help decrease the level of discomfort experienced by the mentee. This will also give both of us (me and the mentee) an opportunity to talk about what makes her so uncomfortable by the principals supervision of her sessions.
