VALLEY
A valley is a low area between hills, often with a river running through it.
There are lots of valleys in India. One is in Alakananda Valley,Uttarakhand India

PLAIN
Large area of flat land with few trees
The Great Plains is an example of a plain. It lies west of the Mississippi

REEF
A ridge of jagged rock, coral, or sand just above or below the surface of the sea.
There are reefs located just off the coast of Florida

PLATEAU
An area of highland, usually consisting of relatively flat terrain.
There is a plateau in central Asia called the Tibetan Plateau

ISLAND
A piece of land surrounded by water
An example of an Island is the state Hawaii

RIVER
A large natural stream of water flowing in a channel to the sea, a lake, or another such stream.
An example of a river is the Kansas River

LAKE
A large body of water surrounded by land
There are lakes in Kansas. An example of one is Shawnee Lake

MOUNTAIN
A large natural elevation of the earth's surface rising abruptly from the surrounding level
There is a mountain in Colorado called Pikes Peek

STRAIT
A narrow passage of water connecting two seas or two large areas of water
An example of a strait is the one between Alaska and Russia

PENINSULA
A piece of land almost completely surrounded by water
An example of a peninsula is the state Florida

ISTHMUS
A narrow strip of land with sea on either side, forming a link between two large areas of land
An example is Panama connecting to Columbia

ARCHIPELAGO
A group of islands
An example of this is Hawaii

CANYON
A deep gorge, typically one with a river flowing in it
An examlple of this is the Grand Canyon located in Arizona

DELTA
A river delta is a landform that forms at the mouth of a river, where the river flows into an ocean, sea, estuary, lake, or reservoir.
There is a river delta located at the beginning of the Nile river
16.
GULF
A deep inlet of the sea almost surrounded by land, with a narrow mouth.
There is a Gulf called the gulf of California
