The Phases Of The Moon

By: Sarah Hitchcock

What Causes The Moon To appear to Change Shape

  • The moons shape appears to change shape every day
  • because the suns light will only show parts of the moon
  • each day. Though, a pattern has been found and people
  • now know a slight reason when the different moons
  • will show.

The order of the moons

  • The first moon is the first quarter moon
  • The second moon is the waxing crescent
  • The third moon is the new moon
  • The fourth moon is the waning crescent
  • The fifth moon is the third quarter

  • The seventh moon is the full moon
  • The eighth moon is the waxing gibbous
  • Then it starts over again
