ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES TO PHILOSOPHICAL LITERATURE
Advantages: Philosophical literature recognizes that literature can affect readers, whether subtly or directly, and that the message of a work is not just a message it is important.
Disadvantages: Some people believe that this type of literature can be too judgemental and that literature shouldn’t just be based on morals but also on the artistic qualities.
Some philosophical authors who have displayed this type of literature style are Mark Twain in “Huckleberry Finn” and Alexander Pope in “An Essay on Man”
a critical approach that uses the events of an author’s life to explain meaning in the author’s work.
