LIVES OF THE SOUTHWEST

  • Lived in flat deserts and some of its area rise to high plateaus
  • Where they lived only had meager amounts of rain
  • Lived in small pueblos
  • Where they live includes present day Arizona,New Mexico and what is now Utah,Colordado,Nevada,Texas,Southern Califonia,and Northern Mexico

THEIR LIVING STYLES

  • The people of the southwest ate beans,squash,bread,and their staple corn
  • Their tradition was to do the Bean Dance for a good harvest
  • They also ate turkey for their meat
  • Soup was part of their diet

SOME OF THE JOBS

  • The jobs of the people were to make irrigation
  • To hunt or farm the food they will eat
  • Make the pottery
  • Cook the food

THE PERSONS HOMES

  • What the homes that they build was made from sticks
  • Adobe clay
  • And finally they used stones to build houses
  • That was the materials that they used for the pueblos

The Hopi tribe.The Hopi was a tribe in the southwest.They were a native tribe and they have were the first to actually make their pottery and use coal fire to harden the clay.And they were the oldest Native American in the southwest.

First special fact. The people of the Hopi tribe would actually build ladders to connect the stories of their houses in the pueblos inside the southwest.

Second fact
The Native American tribe of the Hopi were the first to harden their pottery,to make it strong they would put it over flaming hot coal out of all the tribes

Third fact
The Hopi tribe began living in the northeastern Arizona before 1350 in pueblos

Strange fact
The Hopi tribe had fluffy and warm clothes.The women would wear moccasins.The men would not wear that much of clothes.But the men would wear kilts sometimes.What they would make their clothes of is bear skin
