BUILDING THE TITANIC
The construction began on March 31, 1909.
220 feet was the height of the gantry built over the Titanic.
Took 3 years to construct.
Cost $7,500,000 to build.
During the building 8 construction workers died.
883 feet long and 104 feet wide.

THE TITANIC SETS SAIL
April 2 1912, at 8:00pm, the Titanic sets sail.
The next day the Titanic made it to Southampton and headed to New York.
2,228 people boarded.
Set sail under the command of Caption Edward Smith.

THE TITANIC SINKS
On the night of April 14, at 11:40 P.M., the Titanic hit and iceberg.
Was going 22 knots when it hit the iceberg.
Iceberg cut a hole into the hull between 220 to 245 feet long.

MORE FACTS ABOUT THE SINKING
Each passenger was given a life vest.
However, their wasn't enough life boats to support everyone.
They took mostly children and women on life boats, leaving the men.
It took the Titanic 3 hours to sink after it hit the Iceberg.

THE NEXT MORNING
Their were 705 survivors.
1,522 passengers and crew lost.
The Titanic's final resting place is 350 miles Southeast of Newfoundland, Canada.
2.3 miles below the Ocean's surface.
