ROSA PARKS, MY STORY

BY: MARLEY MEGOWEN

Boycott
The boycott was a protest held by blacks, by staying of the buses one Monday, showing there own rights.
The protest lasted a long time. The protesters didn't think the boycott would last so long. The protesters soon started riding taxis to get to places instead of walking. Soon the police started arresting taxi drivers for lowering there price. After the boycott ended the blacks and white had a new rule, "first come, first served.

Boycott
I chose to write about the boycott because it was a very important event. The protest of the boycott showed that blacks wanted equal rights on buses like the Caucasians had. The boycott lead to a big deal to everyone! It is a very important event in history! I choose this picture 👈because it shows everybody staying of buses, and either walking or waiting for a taxi. That's all they wanted for the protest!

Scottsboro boys
The Scottsboro boy were 9 men who didn't even know each other until the were "accused" of raping two white woman. The NAACP was raising money to help pay for there taxes and legal fees to defend them in court. The blacks never even new the white lady's, they were actually on a train at the time finding a job. When the scottsboro boys were on the buss whites were atacking them so the 9 men fought back. After the bus had stopped the men had been takin to jail and was soon shot/ beat in to death.

Scottsboro boys
I choose to right about the scottsboro Boys because they are important of there race. The scotsoboro Boys were only nine normal men accused of raping two white woman. They show importance to me because if they weren't "black" they would of NEVER been accused for what happened. The incident shows even more how bad segregation is. I choose this picture 👈because it shows the 9 Scottsboro Boys all together held in jail.

NAACP
The Naacp was a foundation run by mainly all blacks. This foundation helped shape segregation become "better". They ran protests (boycott), they held meetings and more. The Naacp group tried to get fair treatment by being able to register.

NAACP
I choose to right about the Naacp campaign because it was a big thing to most blacks. It helped take segregation higher into a more advanced problem. The Naacp campaign helped start blacks reaching more rights in there life! I choose this picture👈 because it shows a few people held at a Naacp meeting. It also is a very good picture because on the board it says Naacp-.

Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King helped out with the campaign, Naacp. He talked (speech) at many meetings, and put together many gatherings and meetings and much more. Martin Luther King lead the march on Sunday to help protest and earn rights! Later on Martin Luther King Jr. Died April 4, 1968.

Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. Will never be forgotten. I chose to right about him because he shows himself as brave courageous and caring guy! He has brought segregation to a whole new level. He has learned to live life with nonviolence. I choose the picture of Martin Luther King because the picture shows him at a big meeting speaking and talking to everyone about his ideas and etc.

Rosa parks
Rosa parks has impacted the world with not giving up her seat. However every body thinks rosa was tired that day, that's not the real truth. Rosa was not tired physically, or no more tired than she usually was after work, the truth is she was tired of giving in. That day rosa had been arrested and taken to jail. Luckily rosa was able to make a telephone call to parks, and was able to pay out of jail. Now the importance of rosa isn't just the bus incident she also was a big part of the Naacp foundation, and way more!

Rosa parks
I choose to write about Rosa parks because without Rosa, you, would never know if the boycott would have ever started. Without the Boycott who knows if the would ever have reached any rights! Also I wanted to show that Rosa was just important for the bus, she was also a "leader" and will follow her dreams!
I choose the picture👈 because it shows rosa just being herself.

Klu Klux Klan
The Klu Klux Klan would ride through black communities, burning churches, beating people, and killing, etc. The whites did not like the fact that black soldiers came home from serving the countries and thought that they should have rights. The whites did not like that the blacks thought that they should have rights. That led to big violence, the klu klux klan. (When rosa was little her grandfather would always keep a gun by him side in case they broke into there house.)

Klu Klux Klan
I choose to write about the Klu Klux Klan because it shows how bad segregation was. The whites don't respect the blacks in any way. The whites never want the blacks to think they are better or they should have any civil rights. I choose the picture👈 because it shows the Klu Klux Klan getting ready to go intarigate them.

Rosa parks moves to Detroit!
Rosa decided to move Detroit after the boycott ended because her family wanted her to be safe. When Rosa was in Detroit she had decided to take a Job at a hotel. Rosa had to spend a lot of time not seeing her family when she was working. That caused rosa to quit her job to go back with her family! (Rosa really enjoyed her job, but she thought family was much more important.)

I choose to write about when Rosa Parks moves to Detroit because it shows that after the boycott it still isn't "safe".
