This clip from "The Hunger Games is an example of Transcendentalism because Katniss and Peeta stand up for what they believe in. They know what the game makers are doing is wrong and they are willing to take a stand even if it means giving up their lives
Psalm of Life: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow "Be not like dumb, driven cattle! Be a hero in the strife!" (Longfellow 1). The "dumb, driven cattle are the other tributes before Katniss and Peeta who just followed orders even though it was wrong. To be a "hero" you need to stick up for your beliefs like they did when they were doing to eat the berries.
This song is an example of transcendentalism because Bedingfeild is telling people to live their life and create their own path. She says "no one else can feel it for you," which shows no one else can live your life for you, you have to live it yourself and create your own path in life.
Self-Reliance: Ralph Waldo Emerson "Man is his own star; and his soul can render an honest and perfect man" (Emerson 1). When Bedingfield says, "no one else can feel it for you, only you can let it in," she's saying you have to do things on your own and become the "star" of your own life.
