In The Begining

• Dystopias, are the reason for most 21st century, sci-fi young adult films; such as The Hunger Games, Divergent, and The Maze Runner.
• Because of these films, you may be used to a group of teenagers joining forces to fight the evil corrupt government in their evil corrupt city. However, those are movies, all illusions.

The "typical" dystopian society. These are what many people usually think a dystopia looks like.

However this is what a dystopia could look like. Most dystopian societies are not those futuristic societies you see in films.

What Is It?

• A dystopia is an “imaginary” society that is considered undesirable and frightening.
• Oh, Americans and their words. Things like imaginary and fake, what’s fake is what our society has been describing it as.
• The primary reason for a society's downfall is a corrupt government.

Imaginary vs Reality

• Many people are not aware of this, but during the Roman Empire there was a city named Volantis.
• However, this city was no ordinary city. Volantis thrived on chaos. But it wasnt all chaos from the beginning.
• This city showed how a once normally functioning city can turn into havoc from one simple mistake.

This was the city of Volantis.

The Road Were Headed

• Our country is looked on upon as the perfect place to live the American dream.
• But really how perfect is our society. Corrupt governments, wars, and being murdered by the people who are sworn to protect is.
• It seems like our beloved nation is turning into the poor city of Volantis.

End Game

• Maybe this was the inevitable. Maybe dystopian societies are a huge, gaping, black hole just sitting there waiting for your society to mess up.
• Maybe everything I said is fake, or maybe this is the realest thing you've ever read.
• The one thing you should know from this is that there's a beast in every society and it stirs when you put power in its hands.
