  • Cordoba was founded by the Romans 169 B.C., making the city almost two thousand years old.

  • Best known for its Mezquita Cathedral

Cordoba, like many other Spanish territories, is diverse when it comes to religion. Everyone is accepting of the many religions and oftentimes celebrate alongside each other.

Mezquita Cathedral

The famous Mezquita Mosque and Cathedral was built in 1523. The building is massive - 24,000 square meters in size with 865 columns. Both Catholics and Muslims worship there. It has 1.5 billion visitors each year.

Cordoba at Night

Conflict

  • In 1236, Ferdinand III seized Cordoba in attempt to rid the city of Islamic rule. Many Muslims were killed.

Cordoba is known for
