CORINTH

MADE BY:NATHAN,MATEO,CELESTE,JASMINE,DEVYNN,AND MARIA.

According to Greek myths,Corinth was created by the descendent of Helios,Corinthos.Corinth was one of the richest cities in Greece.Corinth ships it's own products such as bronze work and pottery all over Greece,it is the center of Mediterranean shipping.Corinth honored many gods like Apollo and Aphrodite(the goddess of love.

Corinth wasn't the top dog but it was a good city.Corinth was on isthmus.

Corinth has another Greek god, his name is Poseidon. Poseidon is the god of all water, earthquakes, and even horses. Poseidon is the brother of Zeus and also the brother of Hades.Poseidon’s trident, like Zeus’s thunderbolt and Hades’ helmet, was fashioned by the three Cyclopes.

FUN FACT: Pandora's box is an artifact in Greek mythology, taken from the myth of Pandora's creation in Hesiod's Works and Days. The "box" was actually a large jar given to Pandora which contained all the evils of the world.

The Corinthian helmet originated in ancient Greece and took its name from the city-state of Corinth. It was a helmet made of bronze which in its later styles covered the entire head and neck, with slits for the eyes and mouth. A large curved projection protected the nape of the neck. It also protected the cheek bones, which Greeks adored.

The foods of ancient Greece were similar to foods we eat today, but did not include many that have become important parts of modern Greek cooking. For example, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, and bananas didn't arrive in Greece until after the discovery of the Americas in the 15th century, because that's where those foods originated. Lemons, oranges, eggplant, and rice also arrived later. But the ancient Greeks enjoyed a varied diet. Vegetables, legumes, and fruit were the mainstay, and fish was a favorite. Hunting brought game to the menu.

Ancient Corinth was a very busy trading city, which led to its cosmopolitan character. It was known as "Wealthy Corinth". The reason for its wealth was its location. It was able to control the only land access to the Peloponnese and so dominated the trade in both the Saronic gulf, and the gulf of Corinth.
