  • One of the worlds most active volcanos.
  • High altitude hummingbirds nest on the cliffs of Cotopaxi
  • Has erupted more than 50 times since 1738 most were small emissions of ash
  • Last eruption was August 22, 2015
  • Cotopaxi is surrounded by the andes mountains and valleys

HAZARDS/RISKS

  • If cotopaxi would erupt, most of the land around it would be destroyed
  • The ash would also spread to surrounding villages and towns

CONCLUSION

  • The next eruption will be small because most have been small in the past
