How She Started

• Simone Biles origionally lived with her mom.(Shanon)
• Her and her siblings were taken away from Shannon because she had a drug addiction.

After being in foster care Simone and her sister were taken under custody of their grandparents.

Once Simone and Adria's day care field trip was canceled and Simone's brother suggested that they go to Bannons gymnastics gym instead. So they did just that.

One coach at Bannons saw Simone doing front flips on the floor and asked her brother how long she had been doing gymnastics. He said, "She hasn't."

The coach asked if she would like to start gymnastics, and she said yes. A week later she started classes. She started gymnastics at age six.

A year later she started in JO level 4. Then a couple weeks later she started training for level 5.

A year later she started in Junior Olympic level 4. Then a couple weeks later she started training for level 5.

She once had a really bad fall off the high bar when she was doing giants for the first time, but her coach made her get back up and try again.

• Some of the other coaches at her gym thought she was progressing to fast and told her coach that she had to stick to one level at a time, but she didn't.
• In seventh grade she moved to a Catholic school right across the street from her gym so she could practice longer hours.
• She competed level nine at age eleven.
• She then competed level ten at age fourteen.

For high school Simone either had to quit gymnastics or not go to high school. She chose to not go tho high school.

She begged and begged her parents for a car for her 16th birthday, and she got one.

Simone traveled a bunch of different places and sometimes even back to back. She won all arounds at the Jesolo Trophy in Jesolo, Italy.Her whole team won gold at that same competition.

• Simone won Worlds 3 years in a row.
• When she was on the 1st place podium at her second World competition a bee flew out of her bouquet of flowers and she started freaking out.
• This was all over the internet for weeks and everyone was talking about it.

• The womens American Gymnastics team had 4 weeks of non-stop training before the Olympics
• Simone won a total of 4 medals.
• That makes her the first women ever to win 4 medals in the Gymnastics portion of the Olympics.

At the closing ceremony of the 2016 Rio Olympics Simone proudly carried our countries flag

All of her Olympic team had a huge crush on Zac Efron but she had the biggest one. And after the Olympics they got a visit him.
