WHO IS THE COYOTE?
The coyote is the trickster
god of many Native American tribes.
He is mostly believed in by tribes
in the Midwest and Southwest tribes.(like the Navaho)
He was believed in around the 1400's

HOW DID HE LOOK
He was a shape shifter
He could look like a man,
Coyote, or just a sacred being or power
He could also look like a
hybrid man/coyote thing.

RELATIVES
The coyote didn't have any family.
The Native American gods weren't
relatives but just divine beings.

WHAT DID HE DO?
He was responsible for many things
He gave people fire, made constellations,
made people different, and
many other things.
But he didn't intentionally do these.

The coyote was worshiped
by ceremonies and rituals
they believed that he would be
present while the rituals were
going on.
