PRESENTATION OUTLINE
1. AGE OF THE EARTH
*Creation: 6,000 years
*Evolution: 3.8 to 3.9 billion years
2. HOW SUN AND STARS FORMED
*Creation: God created the sun and stars (Genesis 1:16).
*Evolution: As the nebula collapsed because of its gravity, it spun faster and flattened into a disk. Most of the material was pulled toward the center to form the sun.
3. HOW PLANETS FORMED
*Creation: God made the sun, moon, and stars on the fourth day (Genesis 1:16).
*Evolution: formed from a cloud of gas (mostly hydrogen and helium) and interstellar dust that formed our sun
4. ORIGIN OF LIFE
*Creation: the origin of life screams at us that there is a super-intelligent Creator of life and that is just not acceptable to the secular mind of today.
*Evolution: Evidence suggests that life first evolved around 3.5 billion years ago. This evidence takes the form of microfossils and ancient rock structures in South Africa and Australia called stromatolites
5. ORGANISMS EVOLVED OR CREATED
*Creation: God created the universe and all the forms of life in it.
*Evolution: all living things evolved from an original life form.
6. GREAT FLOODS
*Creation: The Bible says that the rains that created the Noachian Flood lasted for 40 days (Genesis 7:17), that the waters prevailed on the earth for 150 days (Genesis 7:24).
*Evolution: there is scientific evidence that shows this world-wide flood took place in the former two to three hundred million years.
7. Animals on the ark
*creation: the ark had three decks. It is not difficult to show that there was plenty of room for 16,000 animals.
*evolution: they don't understand how they got all the animals on the ark. Or how they got the food for the animals.
8. FOSSIL RECORD
*creation: communicates sudden appearance of basic types, complete with all the features which characterize them.
*evolution: provides substantial evidence for the common descent of life.
9. Vestigial organs
*creation: God created Adam and Eve with those organs, but they have lost some functionality in their descendants.
*evolution: These organs are allegedly left over from our ancestors but are no longer useful or needed.
10. Homologous organs
*creation: creatures have completely different genetic and anatomical structures.
*evolution: creatures with similar homologous organs were related to one another by evolution.
11. Analogous organs
*creation: completely different genetic and anatomical structures.
*evolution: separate evolutionary origins, but are superficially similar because they have both experienced natural selection that shaped them to play a key role in flight.
12. Geography
*creation: A knowledge of place names, location of cultural and physical features, distribution and patterns of languages, religions, economic activities, population and political systems.
*Evolution: The distribution of living things on the globe provides information about the past histories of both living things and the surface of the Earth.
13. Embryology
*creation: created out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like clot, then from a morsel of flesh.
*evolution: There is usually a difference in form between embryo and adult.
