Copyright Laws

  • Define how primary sources are to be reproduced
  • Protects and provides for the financial value of a work
  • Allows persons to reap the reward from their own work

Fair Use

  • If a work is copyrighted, fair use should be evaluated
  • Fair use is not for commercial benefit
  • Fair use evaluation is probably not needed if it was created prior to 1923 or when reproducing is not being done
  • Limited reproduction is allowed for educational purposes

Summary
