A creative person is someone who is not afraid to try new ideas. They can go wild and crazy without feeling bad or embarrassed. They let new ideas in and try them!

How do we spark student interest & lead them to service & leadership?

Encourage students to take a risk and celebrate mistakes. They will be given 30 mistakes to use freely each day. If they run out, you'll give them 30 more. Remind them that each time we make a mistake, it's an opportunity to learn & grow.

4 Aspects of Creativity

• Fluency: the number of ideas you can come up with
• Originality: the number of ideas you had that no one else had ~ uniqueness
• Flexibility: the ability to take different approaches to a problem
• Elaboration: the ability to add details to or embellish an idea

Ways to Add Originality to Lessons

• Rename that item
• What if....
• Imagine that... You are 2 inches tall. What would you use for a bed?
• Using only the following items, create props for a play, a new alphabet

Ways to add Flexibility to Lessons
* How many other uses are there for .... a paper clip
* How can you change this 2 into a flower?

Ways to add Elaboration to a Lesson:

* If you think you're done, you've only just begun
