Credibility is the trustworthiness of your source.

All your sources should be credible!

Credibility includes:

  • Current
  • Relevant
  • Author
  • Accurate
  • Purpose

Reliability

helps determine accuracy

If your sources are reliable

the facts are supported by evidence

What does evidence look like?

Citations. Quotes. Links to references.

This source is reliable because... it contains a bibliography, quotations OR
This source is reliable because... my other sources repeat the same information.

What does credibility look like?

It includes:
reliability
authority
currency
(everything in CRAAP test)

This source is credible because... the author is an expert on the topic and the article is very current
OR
This source is credible because... the topic was published this year (currency), the information is backed up with sources (reliability), and the information is unbiased (purpose).
