HABITAT

CRESTED GECKOS ARE NATIVE TO NEW CALEDONIA

FEEDENG

  • Crested geckos eat a powder like formula that provides all necessary nutrition and vitamins.
  • You can also feed them small pieces of fruit and small insects.

HANDLING

  • If your gecko is jumpy, than you should try a method called hand walking.
  • First, place your hand in front of your gecko and allow him to walk on.
  • Than, quickly place your other hand next to the hand he is on and allow him to walk on again.
  • Repeat. Eventually, your gecko will be calm enough not to jump off.

TANK AND TEMPERATURE

  • Crested geckos should have a 20 to 29 gallon tank if they are adults.
  • The average temperature in their enclosure should be 72 to 80 degrees most of the year.
  • They tolerate 60 degrees at night.
