PRESENTATION OUTLINE

SISYPHUS

  • Sisyphus told on Zeus for kidnapping a river God's daughter.
  • So he now has to roll a boulder up a hill.
  • every time he get anywhere near the top, the boulder rolls back down the hill .
  • Taking Sisyphus with it.

ANTIGONE

  • Antogone went against man and buried her traitor brother.
  • She was taken into custody by her uncle(the new king)
  • She hung herself moments before the uncle had
  • A change of heart. He was going to release her, but instead found her dead.

TANTALUS

  • Tantalus was loved by he Gods qnd Goddesses.
  • Then he tried to feed his son cooked to them.
  • He now wades in a pool he cannot drink from
  • Surrounded by rood he cannot eat.

IXION

  • Ixion kills his soon to be father in law
  • Zeus cleanses him and then Ixion
  • Tries to make a move on Hera. PIC: Josè Robera 1632
  • Zeus makes a fake Hera that Ixion impregnantes
  • As a punishment he is tied to a flaming wheel.

SALMONEUS

  • He pretended to be Zeus
  • And was struck by lighting from Zeus.

DANIADS

  • The 50 Daniads escaped the marriage kf their cousins.
  • They were found and returned to be wed. (Pic by Robinet Testard )
  • On the night of their marriages they killed their new husbands.
  • Except one, she helped him to escape the city.
  • 49/50 Daniads now carry water in leaking pails and cant ever complete their job.

NIOBE

  • She had a happy life with a husband and kids.
  • She decided she was greater than the gods.
  • She tried to make her people worship her. Pic by Jaques Louis David.
  • Apollo and Artemis flew into Thebes and slaughtered
  • Her kids in front of her and she turned to stone. Always crying.

FAIR? OR UNJUST?

  • I THINK THAT THE WAY THE GODS PUNISHED PEOPLE WASNT EXACTLY A FAIR
  • TRADE SOME OF THESE PEOPLE ONLY DID WHAT ANYONE WOULD DO,
  • BUT, BECAUSE THEIR ACTIONS WERE TOWARDS THE GODS.
  • THEY WERE SEVERELY PUNISHED.
  • THE DANIADS DESERVED WHAT THEY GOT BUT SISYPHUSDIDNT REALLY.
