CRIME AND PUNISHMENT

By Caydon Neahusan

SISYPHUS

  • Told on Zeus.
  • Had to try forever to roll a rock uphill.

TANTALUS

  • Killed his son and fed him to the gods
  • He was never able to quench his thirst or hunger

IXION

  • First human to kill someone.
  • Zeus purifies him and invites him to Olypmus.
  • Exile
  • Brags about relations with Hera so Zeus chains him to a flaming wheel for all eternity.

NIOBE

  • Boasted about her power.
  • Apollo and Artemis killed her children.
  • Changed into stone, forever wet with tears.

THE DANAIDS

  • Killed their husbands.
  • Hypermnestra couldn't do it.
  • She was imprisoned by her father.

SALMONEUS

  • Pretended to be Zeus.
  • Wanted people to worship him.
  • Killed by lightning.

ANTIGONE

  • The brother went against his uncle.

The gods punishments were kind of harsh, honestly. The end result didn't have to be death, or torture. Most of them just needed a reality check.
